Three computer faculty members face termination for absenteeism
The Punjab ICT Education Society (PICTES) has issued a public notice listing three computer faculty members who have been absent from work for long periods of time.
The notice states that the faculty members, Mr. Ramandeep Singh, Mrs. Barjinder Kaur, and Mr. Harjinder Singh, have not responded to show cause notices that were issued to them.
The notice informs the faculty members that they have 15 days from the date of publication of the notice to appear in person at the PICTES head office to explain their absence. If they fail to do so, their services will be terminated.
PICTES is a society that was formed by the Punjab government to promote information and communication technology (ICT) education in the state. The society provides computer teachers to government schools in Punjab.
According to the public notice, the three faculty members who are facing termination have been absent from work for several months. Mr. Ramandeep has been absent since September 11, 2023, Mrs. Barjinder has been absent since August 28, 2023, and Mr. Harjinder has been absent since October 13, 2023.
