Guidelines for Conduct of CBSE Practical Examinations/Projects/ Internal Assessments (2024-2025)
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued detailed guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the conduct of Practical Examinations, Projects, and Internal Assessments for Classes X and XII for the academic year 2024-25. These measures aim to ensure timely and error-free assessments across all schools under CBSE.
1. General Guidelines
- All Practical Examinations/Projects/Internal Assessments must be conducted as per the CBSE-prescribed Scheme of Studies and Examination By-Laws.
- Schools must strictly follow the curriculum and maximum marks allocation, as outlined in the syllabus available on the CBSE academic website: cbseacademic.nic.in.
- Schools and examiners are advised to familiarize themselves with the prescribed subject-wise marks and adhere to the guidelines to avoid any errors.
2. Schedule for Practical Exams
Regular-Session Schools
- Dates: 1st January 2025 to 14th February 2025.
3. Uploading of Marks
- Marks for all assessments must be uploaded simultaneously starting from the dates of the examinations (01/01/2025 to 14/02/2025).
- The uploading process must be completed by the last date for the respective class.
- Important: No extension of the dates for mark submission will be entertained.
4. Error-Free Uploading
- Internal and external examiners must ensure that marks are uploaded correctly, as no corrections will be allowed once submitted.
- Schools and examiners are directed to maintain accuracy while uploading marks to match the maximum marks allotted as per CBSE guidelines.
- The Practical Answer book includes an additional feature where the examiner needs to confirm the accuracy of the uploaded marks.
5. Instructions for Regular Students
- Practical exams/projects/internal assessments must be conducted for regular students as per the List of Candidates (LOC) of Classes X and XII.
- If any student's name is missing from the LOC, schools must contact their regional office immediately to resolve the issue.
6. Instructions for Private Students
- Practical marks for private students will be awarded as per CBSE Examination By-Laws.
- If practical exams are to be reconducted for private students, it must align with CBSE’s policies and Examination By-Laws.
These guidelines ensure a seamless and standardized assessment process for students of Classes X and XII. Schools must take due diligence in adhering to these directives for a successful and error-free assessment cycle.
