Social media platform X now allows all users to make audio and video calls

Social media platform, X, has announced that all users can now make audio and video calls. The company made the announcement in a recent post. X had previously rolled out the feature in October of last year, but at that time, it was only available to premium subscribers and iOS users.
To enable the feature on X, users need to go to their settings. From there, they should tap on "Privacy and Safety" and then select the "Direct Messages" option. Within "Direct Messages," users will find the option to enable audio and video calling. Once the feature is enabled, users can choose who can call them. The options include verified users, people they follow, or people in their address book.
How to make audio or video calls on the social media platform depicted in the image:
- Tap the inbox icon to go to your messages.
- Tap on an existing DM conversation or start a new conversation.
- Tap the phone icon to initiate an audio or video call.
- To start an audio call, tap "Audio Call".
- To start a video call, tap "Video Call".
- The recipient of the call will receive a notification.
Managing audio and video calls:
During an audio call, tap the "Audio" icon to put the call on speakerphone. Tap the microphone icon to mute or unmute your microphone.
During a video call, tap the "Flip Camera" icon to switch between the front and back cameras. Tap the "Audio" icon to turn off speaker mode.
