**CBSE Extends Option for Class 10 Students to Choose Mathematics Basic for 2025-26 Session**
New Delhi, May 27, 2025 – The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the continuation of the option for Class 10 students to choose Mathematics Basic (241) instead of Mathematics (041) for the academic session 2025-26. This decision aligns with the circular No. Acad-03/2019 dated January 10, 2019.
According to CBSE, students who opt for Mathematics Basic in Class 10 will only be eligible to study Applied Mathematics in Class 11. However, those aiming to pursue Mathematics at a higher level can opt for Mathematics (041). Schools have been directed to share this information with parents and students to help them make an informed choice.
Additionally, CBSE clarified that students wishing to study Mathematics (041) in Class 11 must have their aptitude verified by the school principal.

ਨਵੀਂ ਦਿੱਲੀ, 27 ਮਈ 2025 ( ਜਾਬਸ ਆਫ ਟੁਡੇ) - ਕੇਂਦਰੀ ਸੈਕੰਡਰੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਬੋਰਡ (ਸੀਬੀਐਸਈ) ਨੇ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ 2025-26 ਲਈ ਕਲਾਸ 10ਵੀਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਥਮੈਟਿਕਸ (041) ਦੀ ਥਾਂ ਮੈਥਮੈਟਿਕਸ ਬੇਸਿਕ (241) ਦੀ ਚੋਣ ਦੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਰੀ ਰੱਖਣ ਦਾ ਫੈਸਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਐਲਾਨ 10 ਜਨਵਰੀ 2019 ਦੇ ਸਰਕੂਲਰ (Acad-03/2019) ਦੇ ਅਧਾਰ 'ਤੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਸੀਬੀਐਸਈ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਕਲਾਸ 10ਵੀਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੈਥਮੈਟਿਕਸ ਬੇਸਿਕ ਦੀ ਚੋਣ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਕਲਾਸ 11ਵੀਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿਰਫ ਐਪਲਾਈਡ ਮੈਥਮੈਟਿਕਸ ਦੀ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਕਰ ਸਕਣਗੇ। ਪਰ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਉੱਚ ਪੱਧਰ 'ਤੇ ਮੈਥਮੈਟਿਕਸ ਪੜ੍ਹਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਮੈਥਮੈਟਿਕਸ (041) ਦੀ ਚੋਣ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ। ਸਕੂਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਮਾਪਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਕਿਹਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਸਹੀ ਵਿਕਲਪ ਚੁਣ ਸਕਣ।
ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ, ਸੀਬੀਐਸਈ ਨੇ ਸਪੱਸ਼ਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕਲਾਸ 11ਵੀਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੈਥਮੈਟਿਕਸ (041) ਦੀ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਲਈ ਸਕੂਲ ਮੁਖੀ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਦੀ ਯੋਗਤਾ ਦੀ ਪੁਸ਼ਟੀ ਕਰਨੀ ਪਵੇਗੀ।
