PSTET-2024 Exam Guidelines

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, November 26, 2024: The Punjab School Education Board has released guidelines for the PSTET-2024 exam scheduled for December 1, 2024. The exam will be conducted in two sessions:

  • Morning Session: 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM (Paper-1)
  • Afternoon Session: 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM (Paper-2)


Key Guidelines:

  • Exam Center Arrival: Candidates must arrive at the exam center by 9:15 AM for the morning session and 1:45 PM for the afternoon session.
  • Exam Entry: No candidate will be allowed to enter the exam center after 10:30 AM for the morning session and 2:00 PM for the afternoon session.
  • Extra Time for Specially-Abled Candidates: Candidates with 40% or more disability will be given 20 minutes extra time per hour, up to a maximum of 50 minutes. They will be seated only in nodal centers.
  • Exam Center Hygiene: Centers must be kept clean and hygienic.
  • Water and Bathroom Use: Arrangements should be made to ensure that no more than one candidate uses the water fountains or bathrooms at a time.
  • Water Bottles: Candidates are allowed to bring transparent water bottles without labels or prints.
  • Sharing Items: Candidates should not share any items with each other.
  • Early Arrival: Candidates must reach the exam center one hour before the start of their respective sessions.
  • Exam Center Login: Schools must provide data about candidates on the exam center login. Center superintendents must download data, letters, instructions, signature charts, cut lists, etc., and make them available.
  • Preparation: All preparations must be completed one day before the exam. Any negligence will be taken seriously.
  • COVID-19 Precautions: If the situation warrants, guidelines issued by the government regarding any pandemic should be followed.
  • Bathroom Hygiene: Bathrooms must be kept clean, and water and soap should be provided.
  • Crowd Control: Crowds should be avoided outside the exam center.
  • Section 144: Local administration should be requested to impose Section 144 around the exam center.

  • Police Duty: A police officer will be stationed at the exam center gate, but not allowed inside.
  • Exam Day Arrangements: Water and other necessary arrangements should be made for candidates on the exam day.
  • Exam Staff: The supervisory staff, clerks, and Grade 4 employees should be from the school itself.
  • Mobile Phones and Electronics: No one, including supervisory staff, observers, flying squads, and other exam-related personnel, is allowed to carry mobile phones, pens, watches, or any other electronic devices. Arrangements should be made to keep mobile phones separately. Pens will be provided by the board.
  • Wall Clocks: Each room should be equipped with a wall clock.
  • Question Papers: Question papers for Paper-1 will be received from the nearest center at 8:00 AM on December 1, 2024, and for Paper-2 at 12:00 PM.
  • Question Paper Verification: Question paper packets must be checked for seals. Any damaged packets should be immediately reported to the office or the concerned District Education Officer/Coordinator.
  • Question Paper Distribution: Question paper packets should be handed over to the center superintendent after obtaining their signature, one hour before the start of the exam.
