GREEN TAX IN PUNJAB: ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦਾ ਵੱਡਾ ਫੈਸਲਾ, ਵਾਹਨਾਂ ਤੇ 6000 ਰੁਪਏ ਤੱਕ ਗ੍ਰੀਨ ਟੈਕਸ ਲਾਗੂ
**ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ, 21 ਅਗਸਤ 2027 ( ਜਾਬਸ ਆਫ ਟੁਡੇ) ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਵਾਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਦੂਸ਼ਣ ਨੂੰ ਘਟਾਉਣ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਫ਼-ਸੁਥਰਾ ਆਵਾਜਾਈ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਵਾਹਨਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਗਰੀਨ ਟੈਕਸ ਲਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਐਲਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਟੈਕਸ ਸਾਰੇ ਵਾਹਨਾਂ, ਨਿੱਜੀ ਅਤੇ ਵਪਾਰਕ ਦੋਵਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਲਾਗੂ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ 1 ਸਤੰਬਰ, 2024 ਤੋਂ ਲਾਗੂ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
ਗਰੀਨ ਟੈਕਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਦਰਾਂ ਵਾਹਨ ਦੀ ਕਿਸਮ, ਇੰਜਣ ਦੇ ਆਕਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਲਣ ਦੇ ਕਿਸਮ ਦੇ ਅਧਾਰ 'ਤੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਹਨ। ਮਿਸਾਲ ਲਈ, ਦੋ-ਪਹੀਆ ਵਾਹਨਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਪੈਟਰੋਲ ਵਾਹਨਾਂ ਲਈ 500 ਰੁਪਏ ਅਤੇ ਡੀਜ਼ਲ ਵਾਹਨਾਂ ਲਈ 1000 ਰੁਪਏ ਦਾ ਗਰੀਨ ਟੈਕਸ ਲੱਗੇਗਾ। ਚਾਰ-ਪਹੀਆ ਵਾਹਨਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਵਧੇਰੇ ਦਰਾਂ ਲੱਗਣਗੀਆਂ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ 1500cc ਤੱਕ ਦੇ ਪੈਟਰੋਲ-ਚੱਲ ਵਾਹਨਾਂ 'ਤੇ 3000 ਰੁਪਏ ਅਤੇ ਇਸੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੇਣੀ ਦੇ ਡੀਜ਼ਲ-ਚੱਲ ਵਾਹਨਾਂ 'ਤੇ 4000 ਰੁਪਏ ਦਾ ਟੈਕਸ ਲੱਗੇਗਾ।
ਮੋਟਰਸਾਈਕਲਾਂ, ਤਿੰਨ-ਪਹੀਆ ਵਾਹਨਾਂ, ਮੋਟਰ ਕੈਬਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਰੀ ਮੋਟਰ ਵਾਹਨਾਂ ਵਰਗੇ ਆਵਾਜਾਈ ਵਾਹਨਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਵੀ ਸਾਲਾਨਾ ਗਰੀਨ ਟੈਕਸ ਲਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਾਹਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਸਹੀ ਦਰਾਂ ਅਧਿਕਾਰਤ ਨੋਟੀਫਿਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਈਆਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਸਪੱਸ਼ਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ LPG, CNG, ਬੈਟਰੀ ਜਾਂ ਸੋਲਰ ਪਾਵਰ ਨਾਲ ਚੱਲਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਵਾਹਨਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਗਰੀਨ ਟੈਕਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
Punjab Government Imposes Green Tax on Vehicles
**Chandigarh, India:** In a move aimed at reducing vehicular pollution and promoting cleaner transportation, the Punjab government has announced the imposition of a green tax on motor vehicles. The tax will be levied on all vehicles, both personal and commercial, and will be applicable from September 1, 2024.
The green tax rates vary based on the vehicle category, engine size, and fuel type. For instance, two-wheelers will be subject to a green tax of Rs. 500 for petrol vehicles and Rs. 1000 for diesel vehicles. Four-wheelers will face higher rates, with petrol-powered vehicles up to 1500cc paying Rs. 3000 and diesel-powered vehicles in the same category paying Rs. 4000.
Transport vehicles, such as motor cycles, three-wheelers, motor cabs, and heavy motor vehicles, will also be subject to annual green taxes. The exact rates for these vehicles can be found in the official notification.
The government has clarified that there will be no green tax imposed on vehicles that run on LPG, CNG, battery, or solar power.
The revenue generated from the green tax will be utilized for environmental initiatives and infrastructure development. The Punjab government hopes that this measure will encourage the adoption of more eco-friendly vehicles and contribute to a cleaner and healthier environment.
