The Indian Air Force (IAF) has released the notification for Agniveervayu Intake 02/2026, inviting online applications from unmarried Indian male and female candidates under the Agnipath Scheme. 3. Application Fee

An examination fee of ₹550/- plus GST is required to be paid online by the candidate during the registration process. The payment can be made using Debit Cards, Credit Cards, or Internet Banking.

4. Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

  • Date of Birth Block: Candidates born between 02 July 2005 and 02 January 2009 (both dates inclusive) are eligible.
  • Upper Age Limit: In case a candidate clears all selection stages, the upper age limit on the date of enrolment should be 21 years.

Marital Status

  • Only unmarried male and female candidates are eligible.
  • Candidates must undertake not to marry during the four-year engagement period.
  • Female candidates must additionally undertake not to get pregnant during the engagement period. Pregnancy will lead to disqualification and discharge from service.

Educational Qualification

(a) Science Subjects

Candidates must have passed the Intermediate/10+2/Equivalent exam with Mathematics, Physics, and English with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English. OR

Passed a three-year Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Automobile/ Computer Science/ Instrumentation Technology/ Information Technology) with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% in English in the diploma course (or Matriculation if English is not a subject in the Diploma). OR

Passed a two-year Vocational Course with non-vocational subjects Physics and Mathematics, with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in the vocational course (or Intermediate/Matriculation if English is not a subject).

(b) Other Than Science Subjects

Passed Intermediate/10+2/Equivalent exam in any stream with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English. OR

Passed a two-year Vocational Course with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% in English in the vocational course (or Intermediate/Matriculation if English is not a subject).

Note: Candidates eligible for Science Subjects are also eligible for Other than Science Subjects and can opt to appear for both exams in one sitting.

5. Agniveer Vayu Salary and Benefits

Pay, Allowances and Monthly Package

Agniveervayu will receive a customized package of ₹30,000/- per month with a fixed yearly increment. In addition, Risk and Hardship allowances, Dress and Travel allowances will be paid. Perks like ration, clothing, accommodation, and LTC will also be provided.

Terminal Benefits - Seva Nidhi Package

Upon completion of the four-year engagement period, Agniveervayu will be given a one-time 'Seva Nidhi' package, which will comprise their monthly contribution along with a matching contribution from the Government. The total amount, approximately ₹10.04 Lakhs (excluding interest), will be paid upon exit.

Other Benefits

  • Leave: 30 days of annual leave per year and sick leave based on medical advice.
  • Insurance: Non-contributory Life Insurance cover of ₹48 Lakhs for the duration of engagement.
  • Skill Certificate: A detailed Skill-Set certificate will be provided at the end of the engagement period.

6. Selection Process

The selection process consists of three phases.

Phase - I: Online Test

Eligible candidates will take an objective-type online test. The questions will be bilingual (English & Hindi), except for the English paper.

  • Science Subjects: 60 minutes test on Physics, Mathematics, and English (10+2 CBSE syllabus).
  • Other than Science Subjects: 45 minutes test on English (10+2 CBSE syllabus) and Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA).
  • Science & Other than Science Subjects: 85 minutes test covering Physics, Math, English, and RAGA.

Marking Pattern: 1 mark for a correct answer, 0 for no attempt, and a deduction of 0.25 marks for a wrong answer.

Phase - II: Physical Fitness & Adaptability Test

Shortlisted candidates from Phase-I will be called for Phase-II testing. This includes document verification, a Physical Fitness Test (PFT), and Adaptability Tests.

Adaptability Test

  • Adaptability Test-I: An objective written test to assess suitability for the IAF environment.
  • Adaptability Test-II: To select candidates who can adapt to the military way of life.

Phase - III: Medical Examination

Candidates who qualify Adaptability Test-II will undergo a Medical Examination conducted by the Air Force Medical Team as per IAF standards. This will include baseline investigations of Blood, Urine, Biochemistry, Chest X-ray, and ECG.

7. How to Apply

Candidates must fill the application form online by logging on to https://agnipathvayu.cdac.in. Ensure you have a valid Email ID, Mobile Number, and AADHAAR number before starting the registration.

Documents to be uploaded during online registration:

  • Class 10 / matriculation passing certificate.
  • Intermediate/10+2 or equivalent marks sheet. (Or Diploma/Vocational course mark sheets as applicable).
  • Passport size recent colour photograph (taken not before June 2025) of size 10 KB to 100 KB. The photo must be taken with the candidate holding a black slate with their name and date of the photograph clearly written.
  • Candidate’s left-hand thumb impression image (Size 10 KB to 100 KB).
  • Candidate’s signature image (Size 10 KB to 100 KB).
  • Candidate's parent's/guardian's signature image (if the candidate is below 18 years).
