ਅਹਿਮਦਾਬਾਦ, 12 ਜੂਨ, 2025 ( ਜਾਬਸ ਆਫ ਟੁਡੇ) - ਅੱਜ ਦੁਪਹਿਰ ਲਗਭਗ 1.38 ਵਜੇ ਅਹਿਮਦਾਬਾਦ ਦੇ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਵਲਭਭਾਈ ਪਟੇਲ ਅੰਤਰਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਹਵਾਈ ਅੱਡੇ ਤੋਂ ਲੰਡਨ ਲਈ ਉੱਡਾਣ ਭਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਏਅਰ ਇੰਡੀਆ ਦਾ ਬੋਇੰਗ 787 ਡ੍ਰੀਮਲਾਈਨਰ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਹਾਦਸੇ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਜਹਾਜ਼ 'ਚ 242 ਯਾਤਰੀ ਸਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਜਰਾਤ ਦੇ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਵਿਜੈ ਰੂਪਾਣੀ ਵੀ ਸਨ। ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਉੱਡਾਣ ਭਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਮਿੰਟਾਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਹੀ ਮੈਘਾਨੀਨਗਰ ਇਲਾਕੇ 'ਚ ਕ੍ਰੈਸ਼ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ, ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਇਲਾਕੇ 'ਚ ਭਾਰੀ धुंआ ਉੱਠਿਆ।

The aircraft, carrying 242 passengers and crew—including 169 Indians, 53 British nationals, seven Portuguese, and one Canadian—plunged into the densely populated Meghani Nagar area just outside the airport perimeter, erupting into a fireball and producing thick black smoke visible for miles. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) confirmed that the plane issued a Mayday call moments after takeoff at 1:39 PM IST but failed to respond to subsequent air traffic control communications.
