Breaking News: Punjab Panchayat And Jila Parishad Elections to Be Held Before May 31, 2025
Chandigarh, February 13, 2025 ( Jobsoftofay)– The Punjab government has officially announced that elections for Panchayat Samitis and Zila Parishads will be conducted before May 31, 2025. A notification issued by the Department of Rural Development and Panchayats confirms this decision, as per the Punjab Panchayati Raj Act, 1994.
The Election Commission has also begun preparations to ensure a smooth electoral process. Punjab has 153 Panchayat Samitis and 23 Zila Parishads, and authorities are considering factors like board exams and the Rabi crop procurement season while finalizing the election dates.
