**Election Commission Announces Poll Schedule for Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly Elections 2024**
The Election Commission has officially announced the schedule for the General Election to the Legislative Assembly of Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) for 2024. The election will be conducted in three phases, covering a total of 90 Assembly Constituencies (ACs).
- **Phase-I** will cover 24 ACs. The notification will be issued on August 20, 2024, with the last date for nominations being August 27, 2024. Scrutiny of nominations will take place on August 28, 2024, and candidates can withdraw their candidatures by August 30, 2024. Polling for this phase is scheduled for September 18, 2024.
- **Phase-II** will involve 26 ACs, with the notification scheduled for August 29, 2024. The last date for filing nominations is September 5, 2024, and scrutiny will happen the following day on September 6, 2024. The withdrawal of candidatures can be done by September 9, 2024. The polling date for this phase is set for September 25, 2024.
- **Phase-III** will cover 40 ACs. The notification for this phase will be issued on September 5, 2024, with September 12, 2024, being the last date for nominations. The scrutiny will take place on September 13, 2024, and the last date for withdrawal is September 17, 2024. Voting in this phase will occur on October 1, 2024.
The counting of votes for all phases is scheduled for October 4, 2024. The entire election process is expected to be completed by October 6, 2024.
