Central Government Employees to Get Enhanced Retirement Benefits

In an office order dated April 30, 2024, the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) announced an increase in the maximum limit of retirement gratuity and death gratuity for Central Government employees. The revision is on account of the recent hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) to 50% of the basic pay.

Who is eligible?
The revised gratuity amount is applicable to Central Government employees who are eligible for retirement or death gratuity under the Central Civil Services (CCS) (Cash Benefits) Rules, 1979.
