ਭਾਰਤ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਈ-ਕਾਮਰਸ ਕੰਪਨੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ "ਹੈਲਥ ਡਰਿੰਕਸ" ਸ਼੍ਰੇਣੀ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬੋਰਨਵੀਟਾ ਵਰਗੇ ਡਰਿੰਕਸ ਨੂੰ ਹਟਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਕਿਹਾ

ਭਾਰਤ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਵਣਜ ਅਤੇ ਉਦਯੋਗ ਮੰਤਰਾਲੇ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਈ-ਕਾਮਰਸ ਕੰਪਨੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਐਡਵਾਇਜਰੀ ਜਾਰੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਲੇਟਫਾਰਮਾਂ 'ਤੇ "ਹੈਲਥ ਡਰਿੰਕਸ" ਦੀ ਸ਼੍ਰੇਣੀ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬੋਰਨਵੀਟਾ ਸਮੇਤ ਹੋਰ ਪੀਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਟਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਕਿਹਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਇਹ ਸਲਾਹ ਉਦੋਂ ਆਈ ਹੈ ਜਦੋਂ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਬਾਲ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨ (ਐਨਸੀਪੀਸੀਆਰ) ਨੇ ਇਹ ਸਿੱਟਾ ਕੱਢਿਆ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਫੂਡ ਸੇਫਟੀ ਐਂਡ ਸਟੈਂਡਰਡਜ਼ ਐਕਟ, 2006 (ਐਫਐਸਐਸ ਐਕਟ) ਦੇ ਤਹਿਤ ਫੂਡ ਸੇਫਟੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਟੈਂਡਰਡਜ਼ ਐਕਟ, 2006 (ਐਫਐਸਐਸ ਐਕਟ) ਦੇ ਤਹਿਤ ਕੋਈ "HEALTH DRINKS" ਦੀ ਪਰਿਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ।
ਐਡਵਾਈਜ਼ਰੀ 'ਚ ਕਿਹਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਈ-ਕਾਮਰਸ ਕੰਪਨੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਵੈੱਬਸਾਈਟਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਐਪਸ 'ਤੇ 'ਹੈਲਥ ਡ੍ਰਿੰਕਸ' ਸ਼੍ਰੇਣੀ 'ਚੋਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਡਰਿੰਕਸ ਅਤੇ ਬੇਵਰੇਜ ਨੂੰ ਹਟਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ Bournvita, ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਸਮਾਨ ਉਤਪਾਦ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ।
**Indian Government Asks E-Commerce Companies to Remove Drinks Like Bournvita from the "Health Drinks" Category**
The Indian government's Ministry of Commerce and Industry has issued an advisory to all e-commerce companies, asking them to remove drinks and beverages, including Bournvita, from the category of "Health Drinks" on their platforms.
The advisory comes after the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) concluded that there is no "Health Drink" definition under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 (FSS Act), according to rules and regulations submitted by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) and Mondelez India Food Pvt Ltd, which manufactures Bournvita.
The advisory states that e-commerce companies should remove all drinks and beverages from the "Health Drinks" category on their websites and apps. This includes Bournvita and other similar products.
