Punjab school education board ( PSEB ) has issued regulation in 2017 regarding the lost of answer sheet of students in Board exams and awarding marks in such case.
The new regulation states that if the answer sheet of a student who appeared in all subjects for the first time is lost, the marks to be given in that subject will be proportionate to the total marks obtained in all other subjects. Students who are re-appearing for an exam will be given marks proportionate to the total marks obtained in the theory exams of the previous year.
The new regulation also states that in the case of an additional subject, minimum pass marks will be given only in order to declare the result, but only in the case of a natural calamity, such as fire, floods, or some other mishap during the transport of answer sheets. The Chairperson/Chairman of the PSEB is authorized to take a decision on the case based on its merit.
The notification was issued on February 17, 2017.
