Punjab Government Dissolves Panchayats
The Punjab government has issued an order dissolving Panchayats that have completed their five-year term. The order states that this is being done in accordance with Article 243E of the Constitution of India and Section 15 of the Punjab Panchayati Raj Act, 1994.
The order also states that the Director, Rural Development and Panchayats-cum-Special Secretary has been authorized to appoint officials from the Rural Development and Panchayats Department to perform the functions and exercise the powers of the dissolved Panchayats until new elections are held.
The government says that this is being done in the public interest to ensure the smooth functioning of the Panchayats.
ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਪੰਜ ਸਾਲ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਜਕਾਲ ਪੂਰਾ ਕਰ ਚੁੱਕੀਆਂ ਪੰਚਾਇਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੰਗ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਜਾਰੀ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਹੁਕਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਹਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਸੰਵਿਧਾਨ ਦੀ ਧਾਰਾ 243 ਈ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਪੰਚਾਇਤੀ ਰਾਜ ਐਕਟ, 1994 ਦੀ ਧਾਰਾ 15 ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਹੁਕਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਡਾਇਰੈਕਟਰ, ਪੇਂਡੂ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਚਾਇਤਾਂ-ਕਮ-ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਸਕੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਵੀਆਂ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਹੋਣ ਤੱਕ ਭੰਗ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਪੰਚਾਇਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੰਮਕਾਜ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਪੇਂਡੂ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਚਾਇਤ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਨਿਯੁਕਤੀ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਅਧਿਕਾਰਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। PB.JOBSOFTODAY.IN
ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪੰਚਾਇਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੰਮਕਾਜ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਚਾਰੂ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਚਲਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਲੋਕ ਹਿੱਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
