MBAFPI ADMISSION 2024: MAI BHAGO ARMED FORCES PREPARATORY INSTITUTE ADMISSION 2024:
The Punjab government-run Mai Bhago Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (MBAFPI) for Girls in Mohali is offering a great opportunity for young women in Punjab who aspire to become commissioned officers in the Indian Armed Forces.
The institute has released an admission notice for its tenth batch, which will commence in July 2024.

MBAFPI BRIEF HISTORY
ਇਹ ਸੰਸਥਾ, ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਸਿੱਖ ਸੰਤ/ ਜੋਧਾ ਮਾਈ ਭਾਗੋ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ 'ਤੇ, ਸੈਕਟਰ 66, ਐਸ.ਏ.ਐਸ. ਨਗਰ ਵਿੱਚ 8 ਏਕੜ ਦੇ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਲੈਂਡਸਕੇਪ ਵਾਲੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਣੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ। ਰੱਖਿਆ ਮੰਤਰੀ, ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਮਨੋਹਰ ਪਰੀਕਰ, ਨੇ 25 ਜੁਲਾਈ 2015 ਨੂੰ 25 ਲੇਡੀ ਕੈਡਿਟਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਬੈਚ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਸਥਾ ਦਾ ਉਦਘਾਟਨ ਕੀਤਾ।ਇੰਸਟੀਚਿਊਟ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਰਿਹਾਇਸ਼ੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਲਟੀ ਜਿਮ, ਤੈਰਾਕੀ, ਸ਼ੂਟਿੰਗ, ਸਪੋਰਟਸ ਫੀਲਡ, ਵਾਕਿੰਗ ਪਲਾਜ਼ਾ ਆਦਿ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਆਧੁਨਿਕ ਸਹੂਲਤਾਂ ਹਨ।
ELIGIBILITY FOR MBAFPI ADMISSION
- Girls with a Punjab domicile who are currently pursuing 10+2 in any stream from any board and will complete their 10+2 by April 2024 are eligible to apply.
- Applicants should be 16 years of age or older on July 1, 2024.
- They must meet the medical criteria as set forth by the Army, Air Force, and Navy for commissioned officers.

SELECTION PROCESS MAI BHAGO ARMED FORCES PREPARATORY INSTITUTE MOHALI ( MBAFPI)
1. The selection procedure for new candidates comprises four phases:-
(a) Phase I – Issue of Advertisement / Notification. The eligibility criteria, tentative date of written entrance test and interview will be published in leading news papers in Punjab. Procedure for application, issue of admit cards, examination centres etc will be explained in detail.(b) Phase II. On Line application, deposit of examination fees in the bank, acceptance of application and generation of roll number & admit card.(c) Phase III. Conduct of written test and declaration of result and issue of detailed instructions for the conduct of Phase IV Test.(d) Phase IV. Physical test, psychometric test, English composition and interviews are conducted over a period of few days.

Mai Bhago Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (Mai Bhago AFPI) for Girls has been set up by Punjab government as an exclusive all girls training Institute. It is a unique, first of its kind initiative in the country for the girl child. The Institute provides a lifetime golden opportunity to 10 plus 2 level girls from Punjab to choose an elite career as a Commissioned Officer in the Defence Services. The Institute, named after Mai BhagoJi, the famous Sikh saint warrior, is laid out on a sprawling 9 acres beautifully landscaped area in Sector 66, SAS Nagar. Hon’ble Raksha Mantri, Sh Manohar Parrikar, inaugurated the Institute with its first batch of 25 Lady Cadets on 25 Jul 2015.
The Institute is fully residential and has all the modern facilities to include multi gym, swimming, shooting, sports fields, walking plaza etc. The training includes three years graduation in MCM DAV College Sector 36, Chandigarh; Sports and Physical Fitness, Personality Development, Communication Skills, Grooming, Extra Curricular Activities, NCC, Professional Training and preparation for SSB Interview. At the end of three years the Lady Cadets are made to appear in various competitive examinations, to seek admission into the Officer Training Academies, based on different Women Entry Schemes for commission into the Defence Services.
In a path breaking initiative, to consequent to the decision of the Central Government in 2022, to allow entry of women into the National Defence Academy, the Punjab Government in April 2023, has allowed entry to girls at 10+1 level also into Mai Bhago AFPI, for a two year course, to train them for selection to National Defence Academy at the end of their second year at Mai Bhago AFPI. Besides helping in women empowerment, this decision will also provide more opportunities for women of Punjab, to serve the nation.
Who is eligible for MBAFPI ADMISSION:-
a) Only Punjab domicile Girls.
(b) Currently pursuing 10+2 in any stream from any board and completing (10+2) in March/April 2024 or as per Government instruction due to Covid. are eligible
(c) Those who have already cleared plus 2 or yet to clear are not eligible.
(d) Age stipulations as applicable for Women Entry Schemes i.e. 16 to 19 years on 01 July of the year of admission into Mai Bhago AFPI
(e) Candidate should exhibit a perceptible desire to join the Armed Forces
