The Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test (PSTET) is a state-level examination conducted by the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) for the recruitment of Primary and upper Primary teachers in government schools in Punjab.
The PSTET is held in two papers - Paper I for candidates aspiring to teach classes from I to V, and Paper II for candidates aspiring to teach from Class VI to VIII. Candidates can apply for any of paper that is for PSTET -1 AND PSTET 2.

PSTET Syllabus 2023
The PSTET syllabus consists of topics from various subjects like Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I and Language II, Mathematics, Environmental Studies, and Social Studies/Social Science. Candidates appearing for Paper I have to study the syllabus of Class I to V, and those appearing for Paper II have to study the syllabus of Class VI to VIII. The detailed PSTET syllabus is as follows:
Structure of question paper for PSTET I :
In PSTET I , 150 MCQS of 150 marks will be asked
Child Development and Pedagogy: This section includes topics related to child psychology, learning theories, teaching methodologies, and classroom management. 30 MCQS of 30 marks will be asked from Child Development and Pedagogy.
Language I: Candidates have to choose one language from Punjabi, Hindi, Urdu, and English. The syllabus for this section includes grammar, comprehension, and pedagogy of the language.30 MCQS of 30 marks will be asked from language 1.
Language II: Candidates have to choose a different language from the one chosen for Language I. The syllabus for this section is the same as Language I. 30 MCQS of 30 marks will be asked from this section also.
Mathematics: This section includes topics like numbers, algebra, geometry, measurement, data handling, and pedagogy of mathematics. 30 MCQS of 30 marks for PSTET 1 and 60 MCQS of 60 marks for PSTET 11 will be asked from this section.
Environmental Studies: This section includes topics related to environmental science and social studies. The syllabus includes topics like food, shelter, water, air, plants, animals, and natural resources. 30 MCQS of 30 marks for PSTET 1 will be asked from this section
Social Studies/Social Science: This section is for candidates appearing for Paper II. The syllabus includes topics related to history, geography, political science, and economics. 60 MCQS of 60 marks for PSTET 11 will be asked from this section.
