Education in Punjab would be further enhanced and better and free education be provided to the students of the state by improving the education policies. The time will not be far off when foreigners will come to see Punjab's schools like Delhi.
This was stated by Aam Aadmi Party's newly appointed Education Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hair while presiding over his chair. He said that he would fulfill the responsibility entrusted to him by the Chief Minister Mr. Bhagwant Mann day and night with utmost sincerity.
In the state, like Delhi, education will be given priority. That is why the people of Punjab have given their allegiance to the Aam Aadmi Party in the state in view of the Delhi model. He said that in order to further strengthen the education system of the state new buildings would be constructed in the state and the budget for education would be increased and new recruitments would also be made in the education department. The best education level in the country will be given to the students of the state. He said that besides education, he has also been given the responsibility of sports.
He said that if the first national athletes had won 10 medals then 5 of them would have been from Punjab. But now the standard of sports in the state has come down, the Aam Aadmi Party government will make sports a more promising minister in the state and new players will be selected and the standard of sports will be raised. He said that the standard of government schools and colleges in the state would be raised and private schools would be allowed to function as per law. He said that teachers have a huge contribution to make in improving the standard of education in the state. Therefore he would address the problem of teachers in the state on priority basis and the education system in the state would be strengthened at all levels.
