District Government Schools Celebrate 'International Yoga Day' Online
Ludhiana, June 21 ( Dr. Chhina) The School Education Department under the guidance of Education Minister Vijay Inder Singla and Education Secretary Krishan Kumar has been making continuous efforts to provide quality education to the students of government schools as well as keep them physically and mentally fit. While students are constantly encouraged to play sports and exercise daily, online events were also held on the occasion of International Yoga Day.
Mr. Lakhveer Singh Samra District Education Officer (Secondary), Madam Jaswinder Kaur District Education Officer (Elementary) informed that following the instructions issued by the government primary, middle, high and senior secondary schools of the district regarding prevention of corona The day was celebrated. The Education Officer said that the teachers encouraged the students to do yoga in their respective homes.He said that while the pictures and videos of yoga done by the students at home were shared with the teachers, it was also done online by many schools.
Dr. Charanjit Singh Deputy District Education Officer Secondary and S. Mr. Kuldeep Singh Deputy District Education Officer Elementary said that during the online yoga activities on the occasion of International Yoga Day, the teachers also informed the students about the importance of yoga in terms of physical and mental health.
Media Researcher cum Principal Dr. Davinder Singh Chhina informed that a special program for the students was also aired on Doordarshan's regional channel DD Punjabi dedicated to this day by the Education Department.
