Ludhiana Mid-Day Meal Cell Orders Immediate Utilization of Pending Funds Ahead of PFMS Portal Closure
LUDHIANA: The District Education Officer (EE) Mid-Day Meal Cell, Ludhiana, has issued an urgent directive to all Block Primary Education Officers (BPEOs) across the district, ordering the immediate utilization of all pending mid-day meal funds for the months of April and May 2026. This order comes in the wake of significant technological upgrades being carried out by the department.
According to an official communication issued by the office of the Deputy District Education Officer, the decision follows a high-level review meeting convened by the Head Office on June 12, 2026. The department has announced that the existing Public Financial Management System (PFMS) portal will be decommissioned very shortly to clear the path for the implementation of the new SNA SPARSH platform.
Authorities have explicitly stated that if any unutilized funds are left pending at the district, block, or individual school levels on the portal, they must be expedited and spent locally within the stipulated time frame. To ensure seamless compliance and zero lapses, the administration is actively conducting round-the-clock monitoring, capturing real-time updates from field officers via regular messaging services and WhatsApp groups.
All primary school administrations and block authorities have been instructed to treat this matter with the highest priority to avoid any disruption in the welfare scheme during this technical transition phase.
