PSEB 12th Class Scheme of Studies 2025-26 Released – Complete Subject List, Marks Distribution & Passing Marks Rules

The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has officially released the Scheme of Studies for Senior Secondary (12th Class) Examination for the Academic Session 2025–26.
This new scheme defines compulsory and elective subjects, subject codes, theory and practical marks, internal assessment, and minimum passing marks.

Each student must appear in a total of seven subjects — including compulsory subjects, elective subjects, and one activity-based subject.


A. COMPULSORY SUBJECTS (For All Streams)

Every student shall study the following compulsory subjects:

Important Notes

  1. Students must score at least 33% marks separately in theory and practical.
    Internal marks have no minimum limit, but overall aggregate must be 33%.

  2. Computer Science is compulsory for all students. It will be evaluated by PSEB at board level, and both grades and marks will appear on the certificate.

  3. Environmental Education is assessed at the school level. Marks are sent to the Board.

  4. Students from boards other than PSEB who didn’t study Punjabi can choose Punjab History and Culture instead of Punjabi.

  5. Those who studied Punjab History and Culture in Matric may continue it in Class 12.

Agriculture, Apparel, Automotive, Beauty & Wellness, Construction, Health Care, IT/ITES, Retail, Plumbing, Travel & Tourism, Private Security, Banking, Telecom, etc.
(40 marks theory + 50 practical + 10 internal = 100 total)


Group II: Science Stream

  • Marks given under internal assessment.

  • No written exam.


Passing Marks & Evaluation Rules

  1. Minimum 33% marks required in both theory and practical separately.

  2. No minimum required in internal assessment, but aggregate 33% is mandatory.

  3. Grades and marks will appear on the certificate.

  4. Environmental Education and Welcome Life are evaluated by schools.

  5. Students failing in one elective subject may reappear as per PSEB rules.
