Punjab Government Announces 7.1% Interest Rate on GPF and Contributory Provident Fund
CHANDIGARH 2 August 2025 : The Punjab government has issued a notification announcing the interest rates for the General Provident Fund (GPF), Contributory Provident Fund (CPF), and other similar funds for the second quarter of the financial year 2024-25.
According to the circular, the interest rate for the period from July 1, 2024, to September 30, 2024, will be 7.1%. This rate applies to funds held by government employees in these schemes.
The notification, dated August 13, 2024, has been issued by the Principal Secretary, Punjab Government. It states that the interest will be calculated quarterly, providing a clear rate for the current period.
