Overview of IOCL Apprenticeship Program
IOCL is committed to skill-building and is providing a platform for Technician, Graduate, and Trade Apprentices (both Technical and Non-Technical) to train at its locations across several states and Union Territories in Northern India. If you are a resident of Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, or Uttarakhand, this opportunity could be for you!
Apprentice Categories and Eligibility
IOCL is inviting applications for various apprenticeship positions under the Apprentices Act, 1961/1973/1992 (and amendments).
- Trade Apprentice: For candidates with ITI qualifications in various trades.
- Technician Apprentice: For candidates with Diploma in Engineering/Technology.
- Graduate Apprentice: For graduates in any discipline.
To be eligible, candidates must meet the specific educational qualifications and other parameters as prescribed by IOCL.
Disciplines and Seat Distribution
IOCL Northern Region has announced a number of apprenticeship positions across various disciplines. Here are some of the key disciplines:
- Technician Apprentice: Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Civil, Electrical & Electronics, and Electronics.
- Trade Apprentice: Fitter, Electrician, Electronics Mechanic, Instrument Mechanic, Machinist, and Data Entry Operator.
- Graduate Apprentice: Various disciplines.

Stipend Details
Apprentices will receive a stipend as per the Apprentices Act, 1961/1973, Apprentices Rules 1992/2019, and amendments.
- For Graduate and Technician Apprentices, part of the stipend will be paid by the Board of Apprenticeship Training (BOAT), and the remaining amount by Indian Oil Corporation.
- Trade Apprentices will receive the full stipend from Indian Oil Corporation Limited.
It is mandatory for candidates to have an Aadhaar-seeded bank account enabled for Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to receive the government’s share of the stipend.
Age Limit and Relaxations
- The minimum age limit is 18 years, and the maximum age limit is 24 years as on 28.02.2025.
- Age relaxations are applicable for SC/ST, OBC-NCL, and PwBD candidates as per government rules.
Selection Process
The selection process will be based on merit. A merit list will be prepared based on the percentage of marks secured in the prescribed qualification for the respective post. There will be no written test or interview.
Candidates must also be medically fit as per Indian Oil's pre-engagement medical standards.

After applying online, candidates must also submit a consolidated PDF document containing the required documents through the link provided on the IOCL website.
Documents Required
Candidates must upload a single consolidated PDF document (Max Size 5 MB) containing scanned copies of the following documents in the specified order:
- Xth std/SSLC/Matriculation certificate and marksheet.
- Marksheet and Certificate/Degree or Provisional Certificate/Degree of the prescribed Educational Qualification.
- Conversion formula for CGPA to percentage (if applicable).
- Caste certificate (if applicable).
- PwBD certificate (if applicable).
- Latest EWS certificate (if applicable).
- PAN Card/Aadhar Card.
- Recent color passport size photograph.
- Signature in blue ink.
Important Dates and Deadlines
- Date of Opening of Application: 16th March 2025 from 10:00 AM onwards.
- Last Date of Submission of Application: 22nd March 2025 up to 11:55 PM.
