Punjab Municipal Council Elections 2025: Schedule Announced
Chandigarh, February 20, 2025 (ਜਾਬਸ ਆਫ ਟੁਡੇ) The State Election Commission of Punjab has officially announced the schedule for the General Elections to elect members of Municipal Councils in Tarn Taran (District Tarn Taran), Dera Baba Nanak (District Gurdaspur), and Talwara (District Hoshiarpur).
The elections will take place as per the following schedule:
February 17, 2025 (Monday): Start of nomination filing (11 AM to 3 PM)
February 20, 2025 (Thursday): Last date for nomination filing (until 3 PM)
February 21, 2025 (Friday): Scrutiny of nominations
February 22, 2025 (Saturday): Last date for withdrawal of nominations (until 3 PM)
March 2, 2025 (Sunday): Election day (polling from 7 AM to 4 PM)
March 3, 2025 (Monday): Completion of the election process
Vote Counting & Model Code of Conduct
The counting of votes will take place on March 2, 2025, immediately after polling ends. Further instructions regarding the counting process will be issued separately.
With this notification, the Model Code of Conduct has come into effect immediately within the revenue jurisdiction of the respective Municipal Councils and will remain in force until the completion of polling.
