CLASS-XII HISTORY (2024-25) – Exam Structure and Question Paper Format
The History exam for Class XII (2024-25) is structured to evaluate students comprehensively over a 3-hour period. The exam carries a total of 100 marks, divided between Theory (80 marks) and Internal Assessment (20 marks).
STRUCTURE OF QUESTION PAPER
The question paper is divided into six sections: A, B, C, D, E, and F. Students must attempt all questions or sub-questions as instructed within these sections.
SECTION-A: Multiple Choice Type Questions
- Question 1 consists of 10 sub-questions (I to X).
- Each question carries 1 mark.
- Total Marks: 10 marks (10x1).
SECTION-B: Very Short Answer Type Questions
- Question 2 consists of 5 sub-questions (I to V).
- Each question carries 1 mark and should be answered in one word or a sentence.
- Total Marks: 5 marks (5x1).
SECTION-C: Short Answer Questions
- Question 3 consists of 10 sub-questions (I to X).
- The questions are split between Part A (5 questions) and Part B (5 questions) of the syllabus.
- Students must attempt 3 questions from Part A and 3 from Part B.
- Each question carries 3 marks.
- The answers should be concise, between 30-35 words.
- Total Marks: 18 marks (6x3).
SECTION-D: Source/Case-Based Question
- Question 4 consists of 2 sub-questions (I and II).
- Each sub-question is based on a passage and is further divided into 6 follow-up sub-questions.
- Each follow-up question carries 1 mark.
- Total Marks: 12 marks (2x6).
SECTION-E: Long Answer Questions
- Question 5 is divided into two parts, with 4 questions from Part A and 4 from Part B of the syllabus.
- Students are required to attempt any 2 questions from each part.
- Each question carries 5 marks.
- The answer length should be between 100-150 words.
- Total Marks: 20 marks (4x5).
SECTION-F: Map Question
- Question 6 is a map-based question with 100% internal choice.
- The question carries 15 marks: 5 marks for showing rivers, 5 marks for showing places, and 5 marks for explanation.
- Each place should be described in 20-25 words.
- Total Marks: 15 marks (5+5+5).
