Notice Inviting Applications for 3 Years General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) Course
Academic Session 2024-25
The Directorate of Medical Education & Research, Himachal Pradesh, invites applications from eligible Bonafide Himachali female candidates for the 3-year General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) course. This course will be available at the following 46 GNM Training Institutions.

Note: Tuition fees and hospital attachment charges will be waived for BPL/IRDP families.
Eligibility Criteria
- The candidate must have passed 10+2 with Science (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) and English with 40% marks.
- Candidates from Arts/Commerce with 40% marks are also eligible.
- A relaxation of 5% marks is provided for SC/ST candidates.
- The age of the candidate should be 17 years as of 31 December 2024.
Application Process
All eligible candidates must apply on the prescribed proforma. Application forms will only be accepted through SBI Collect.

- Last date for application: 14 July 2024 (General areas)
- Last date for application: 24 July 2024 (Tribal areas)
Selection Process
Candidates will be selected based on merit:
- First Preference: 10+2 (Science: Physics, Chemistry, and Biology)
- Second Preference: 10+2 (Non-Medical: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics)
- Last Preference: 10+2 (Arts and Commerce)
Counselling
The date for counselling will be notified through the official website, newspapers, and TV. All candidates called for counselling must bring their certificates.
Note: The counselling process will be held tentatively in August 2024.
