The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday released its first list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections. The list includes 195 candidates, of which 28 are women, 47 are young, 27 are SC, 18 are ST, and 57 are OBC candidates. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will contest from Varanasi. Jyotiraditya Scindia has been given ticket from Guna in Madhya Pradesh and Shivraj Singh Chouhan from Vidisha.
The list includes candidates from Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Kerala, Telangana, Assam, Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Tripura, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Daman and Diu.
