ਭਾਰਤੀ ਚੋਣ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨ (ਈਸੀਆਈ) ਨੇ ਅਰੁਣਾਚਲ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਕਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਦਲਾਅ ਦਾ ਐਲਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਦੋਵਾਂ ਰਾਜਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਚੋਣਾਂ 19 ਅਪ੍ਰੈਲ, 2024 ਨੂੰ ਹੋਣੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਵੋਟਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਹੁਣ 4 ਜੂਨ, 2024 ਦੀ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਐਲਾਨੀ ਮਿਤੀ ਦੀ ਬਜਾਏ 2 ਜੂਨ, 2024 ਨੂੰ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।
ਈਸੀਆਈ ( ECI ) ਨੇ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਦੀ ਤਰੀਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਬਦੀਲੀ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਵਜੋਂ ਅਰੁਣਾਚਲ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਕਮ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾਵਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਜਕਾਲ ਖਤਮ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਕਰਵਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਦਾ ਹਵਾਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਦੋਵਾਂ ਰਾਜਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਿਆਦ 2 ਜੂਨ, 2024 ਨੂੰ ਖਤਮ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ।

Election Commission of India to Announce Schedule for General and State Assembly Elections today
The Election Commission of India (ECI) will hold a press conference on Saturday, March 16, 2024, to announce the schedule for the upcoming general election and state assembly elections. The press conference will be held at 3:00 PM IST and will be live-streamed on the ECI's social media platforms
The press conference comes just one day after the appointment of two new election commissioners, Gianesh Kumar and Sukhbir Singh Sandhu. The three election commissioners met on Friday to discuss the election schedule.
Shri Gyanesh Kumar and Dr. Sukhbir Singh Sandhu today assumed charge as Election Commissioners in the Election Commission of India. Chief Election Commissioner Shri Rajiv Kumar welcomed the newly appointed Election Commissioner’s at Nirvachan Sadan to the action packed and intense twelve weeks ahead. He emphasized the significance of their joining at this historic point, when team ECI is all set to conduct
the General Elections 2024 in the world's largest democracy.
A notification regarding appointment of the Election Commissioners was published in the Gazette on March 14, 2024. Shri Gyanesh Kumar and
Dr. Sukhbir Singh Sandhu are officers from the 1988 batch of the Indian Administrative Service who belonged to the Kerala and respectively.
