STALLS BY SELF HELP GROUPS BECOME CENTRE OF ATTRACTION AMONG VISITORS
Kila Raipur (Ludhiana) February 12:
The Kila Raipur Rural Olympics, one of the major sporting events, started on a rousing note on Monday with MLA Jeevan Singh Sangowal and Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney inaugurated the games in the local stadium.
In their address, Sangowal and Sawhney said that the state government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann was committed to taking sports to new heights in the Punjab so that it could become a leader in the country. They said that the government had already been making sincere efforts to create a sports environment in the state. They said that the organization of these historic games by the government this time would boost sports and sportsmen in the state. They said that these games would definitely bring positive results in creating a sports culture in Punjab’s every nook and corner. They also expressed hope that these games would play a vital role in making Rangla Punjab and urged the sports lovers for converging at the stadium for witnessing this gala event.
The MLA and DC said that these Olympics would also offer an opportunity to the children, youngsters, senior citizens and all others to exhibit their talents in different games.
Later, they also inaugurated an exhibition of Punjabi Heritage in the stadium and said that the rich Punjabi culture was being exhibited there. They also visited the stalls of Self Help Groups and lauded their efforts. Deputy commissioner Sakshi Sawhney also purchased a few products from the stalls.
Eminent Punjabi singer Debi Makhsoospuri would perform from 5 pm onwards tomorrow (i.e.) February 13, while Amrit Mann on February 14.

ਵਿਧਾਇਕ ਸੰਗੋਵਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਹਨੀ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਭਗਵੰਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਾਨ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਵਾਲੀ ਸੂਬਾ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਵੀਆਂ ਬੁਲੰਦੀਆਂ 'ਤੇ ਲਿਜਾਣ ਲਈ ਵਚਨਬੱਧ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸੂਬੇ ਨੂੰ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੋਹਰੀ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸੂਬੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਹੌਲ ਸਿਰਜਣ ਲਈ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਸੁਹਿਰਦ ਯਤਨ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਇਸ ਵਾਰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਸੂਬੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਖਿਡਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੁਲਾਰਾ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਹਰ ਕੋਨੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੇਡ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਸਕਾਰਾਤਮਕ ਨਤੀਜੇ ਲਿਆਉਣਗੀਆਂ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਸ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਈ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਰੰਗਲਾ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਹਿਮ ਰੋਲ ਅਦਾ ਕਰਨਗੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਖੇਡ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖਣ ਲਈ ਸਟੇਡੀਅਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹੁੰਚਣ ਦੀ ਅਪੀਲ ਵੀ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਵਿਧਾਇਕ ਅਤੇ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਓਲੰਪਿਕ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ, ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ, ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੀ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਭਾ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਮੌਕਾ ਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰੇਗਾ।
ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਟੇਡੀਅਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਰਸੇ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨੀ ਦਾ ਉਦਘਾਟਨ ਵੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇੱਥੇ ਅਮੀਰ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨੀ ਲਗਾਈ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੈਲਫ ਹੈਲਪ ਗਰੁੱਪਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਟਾਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਦੌਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਰਾਲੇ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਸਾਕਸ਼ੀ ਸਾਹਨੀ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਸਟਾਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਉਤਪਾਦ ਖਰੀਦੇ।
ਉੱਘੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਗਾਇਕ ਦੇਬੀ ਮਖਸੂਸਪੁਰੀ ਭਲਕੇ 13 ਫਰਵਰੀ ਸ਼ਾਮ 5 ਵਜੇ ਜਦਕਿ ਅਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਮਾਨ 14 ਫਰਵਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਗਾਇਕੀ ਨਾਲ ਸਰੋਤਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਮਨੋਰੰਜਨ ਕਰਨਗੇ।
