Deputy Commissioner Sonali Giri Conducts surprise checking of Pvt. De-Addiction Centre
Rupnagar, October 27:
To ensure the strict compliance of SOPs regarding the functioning of De-Addiction centres as well as rehab centres, the Deputy Commissioner Mrs Sonali Giri on Wednesday conducted the surprise checking of Seerat, Private De-Addiction Centre at Ropar.
Speaking on the occasion, Mrs Sonali Giri said that Punjab Govt. is committed to provide quality treatment services through these centres to the patients. She instructed to management that training of counsellors working in these de-addiction centres is compulsory so that patients should get treated within time and lead a healthy life. She said that they would also ensure that all patients can properly complete their treatment as per the guidelines issued by the State Government.
Deputy Commissioner directed the Deputy Medical Commissioner Dr. Baldev Singh that he would personally monitor all private and government de-addiction, rehab centres as well as OOAT Clinics. She said that no laxity will be tolerated in this regard.
Highlighting the key features of the de-addiction program she said that the aim of this noble program is to cover all affected patients and motivate them to get treatment.
Mrs. Sonali Giri further said that Health & Family Welfare Department is working tirelessly with sincerity to fight the battle against drug abuse with the aim to cover the maximum number of patients. Apart from one government de-addiction centre, 3 private de-addiction centres have also been authorized in the district. She said that to increase in accessibility of de-addiction facilities, seven OOAT clinics have also been provided treatment services to the patients.
She said that the main agenda of the de-addiction program is to have good communication with the patients, to arrange family counseling sessions to conduct anxiety and depression testing of the patients so that patients could put treatment for recovery.
