Punjab Irrigation Department Issues Notice Regarding Strike by Canal Patwaris
The Punjab Irrigation Department has issued a notice to all supervisory engineers regarding the ongoing strike by canal patwaris. The notice states that the canal patwaris have been on strike since May 16, 2024, and as a result, their salaries will be deducted in accordance with the "No Work No Pay" rule.
The department has also instructed the supervisory engineers to inform them about any employees who went on strike and have since returned to work.
The notice is dated June 3, 2024, and is signed by the Chief Engineer/Headquarter, Irrigation Department. A copy of the notice has also been sent to the Principal Secretary, Irrigation Department, Punjab.
