Punjab government declares holiday on June 1 for Lok Sabha elections
The Punjab government has declared a holiday on Saturday, June 1, 2024, for all government offices, boards, corporations, and educational institutions in the state in view of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
The holiday has been declared under the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881.
The order also states that June 1 will be a paid holiday for all persons employed in any business, trade, industrial undertaking, or any other establishment under Section 135B(1) of the Representation of the People Act, 1951.
