ਸ਼ੌਰਿਆ ਮਿਜ਼ਾਈਲ 750 ਤੋਂ 1900 ਕਿ.ਮੀ. ਦੀ ਦੂਰੀ ਤੱਕ ਦੀ ਟੈਕਟੀਕਲ ਮਿਜ਼ਾਈਲ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਨੂੰ “ਕਰੂਜ਼ ਮਿਜ਼ਾਈਲ ਹਾਈਬ੍ਰਿਡ" ਪ੍ਰਣਾਲੀ ਵਜੋਂ ਸ਼੍ਰੇਣੀਬੱਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਬਲਿਸਟਿਕ ਮਿਜ਼ਾਈਲ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਡਦੀ ਹੈ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਇਹ 50 ਕਿ.ਮੀ. ਦੀ ਉੱਚਾਈ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦੀ, ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਇਹ ਹਾਈਪਰਸੋਨਿਕ ਕਰੂਜ਼ ਮਿਜ਼ਾਈਲ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਵਹਾਰ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ ਬਲਿਸਟਿਕ ਮਿਜ਼ਾਈਲਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਧ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਦਰੁਸਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੀਆਂ, ਸ਼ੌਰਿਆ ਇੱਕ ਬੁੱਧੀਮਾਨ ਮਿਜ਼ਾਈਲ ਹੈ। ਇਸਦਾ ਨੈਵੀਗੇਸ਼ਨ ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਟੀਚੇ ਵੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਗਾਈਡ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਗਲਤੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਠੀਕ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਇਸਦੀ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਲ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਆਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
The Sharya missile is a surface-to-surface tactical missile having range between 750 to 1900 km. It is classified as a “Cruise missile hybrid” system. It flies like a ballistic missle till it attains the height of 50 km, post that it behaves like a hypersonic cruise missile. While ballistic missiles can not correct their course midway, the Shaurya is an intelligent missile. Its onboard navigation computer guides the missile to the target and eliminates the errors that come during its turbulent journey.
