No need to visit Delhi schools, Punjab Model of " Smart Schools" is already the best in the country, Social activist urges Chief Minister.

Taking cognizance of the reports regarding the proposed visit to Delhi schools by the Chief Minister, Bhagwant Maan , a Nawanshahr based social activist, Parvinder Singh Kittna, has urged the Chief Minister that before visiting Delhi schools, he should visit government schools of Punjab. The visit to government schools would definitely prove an eye opener that Punjab had already shown the way how school infrastructure could be spruced up with missionary spirit by making it mass movement with concerted, consistent and dedicated efforts of the government, teachers and community.
" The Chief Minister should shun politics on the issue and come forward to appreciate the dedication and zest of the school teachers and community for converting most of he schools into smart schools, which is the glorious legacy of Punjab inherited from the great gurus", said Kittna while adding that there was a huge gap of number of government schools in Delhi and Punjab. While there are about 1300 schools in Delhi, Punjab has more than 19000 government schools.
"Besides, the teachers have also made remarkable contribution towards developing innovative teaching techniques, modules, activities, latest digital applications for ensuring qualitative improvement in education", further added the Kittna while urging the Chief Minister to take stock of the developments in the state education sector comprehensively and objectively so that a concrete policy could be chalked out to bringing in further improvement instead of wasting time and resources in visiting Delhi schools. Rather, Punjab Model should be strengthened and popularised.
He also draw the attention of the Chief Minister towards scarcity of the staff in Punjab government schools and urged him to take immediate effective steps to ameliorate the chronic problem, if he could, during his tenure of five years.
