Punjab Government Increases Dearness Allowance for Computer Teachers
Chandigarh, January 20, 2025 ( ਜਾਬਸ ਆਫ ਟੁਡੇ) - In a significant move, the Punjab Government has approved an increase in the Dearness Allowance (DA) for all regular employees of the Punjab Information and Communication Technology Education Society (PICTES). The DA rate will be hiked from 148% to 181%, effective January 1, 2025. This decision was announced in an official order issued by the Department of Finance.
The DA increase is a welcome move for computer teachers working under PICTES, as it will provide them with additional financial support and recognition for their work. The order was issued in response to a proposal submitted by the Department of School Education on November 7, 2024.
