Punjab Government Increases School Principal Promotion Quota to 75%, Announces Education Minister Harjot Bains
**Chandigarh 15 April ( PBJOBSOFTODAY) – The Punjab government has announced a significant decision aimed at improving school administration and providing career advancement opportunities for teachers. Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains revealed that the quota for promoting teachers to the post of Principal in government schools has been substantially increased.

Under the new policy, 75% of principal ( Read) vacancies will now be filled through the promotion of existing eligible teachers. This marks a significant increase from the previous 50% quota that was in place during the earlier Congress government.
Minister Bains stated that the previous lower quota had contributed to a shortage of principals in schools across the state. He emphasized that this new decision is expected to address this shortage effectively.
