Important Notes on Physical Standards:
- Weight will be measured but fitness decision based on weight will be at the Detailed Medical Examination stage and will be proportionate to height and age as per medical standards.
- Remember to carry required certificates (Annexure-VI as mentioned in the detailed notification) if you are claiming relaxation in physical standards.
- Ex-Servicemen will only undergo measurement of height, chest and weight in PST. PET (race) is NOT required for them.
Detailed Medical Standards (DME)
Candidates who clear the PET, PST, Documentation, and Trade Test will undergo a Detailed Medical Examination (DME). Here are some key points about the medical standards:
- General Health: You must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of duties.
- Specific Disqualifications: Make sure you DO NOT have:
- Knock Knee
- Flat Foot
- Varicose Vein
- Squint in Eyes
- Colour Vision: You must possess high colour vision. Colour vision test will be done once at the time of recruitment and later on at the time of basic training.
- Tattoos: Tattoos are permitted under certain conditions:
- Content: Religious symbols or figures and names, as is the tradition in the Indian Army, are permitted.
- Location: Tattoos are allowed on traditional sites like the inner aspect of the forearm, but ONLY on the left forearm (being the non-saluting limb) or the dorsum of the hands.
- Size: Must be less than 1/6th of the particular part of the body (elbow or hand).
- Medical Examination Authority: Medical Boards will conduct the DME as per the Uniform Guidelines for Recruitment Medical Examination for GOs and NGOs in CAPFs and AR issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs and other relevant government instructions.
- Review Medical Examination (RME): Candidates declared medically UNFIT in DME will be informed of the grounds for rejection in writing. They can undergo Review Medical Examination (RME) if they give written consent within 24 hours of being declared unfit. RME will be conducted preferably the next day of DME. Consent for RME must be submitted within 24 hours after being declared unfit.
Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification:
- For Skilled Trades: Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized board before the closing date. (Trades: Barber, Cobbler, Tailor, Cook, Carpenter, Mali, Painter, Charge Mechanic, Washer Man, Welder, Electrician, Motor Pump Attendant). ITI trained personnel will be preferred for skilled trades.
- For Unskilled Trades: Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized board before the closing date. (Trade: Sweeper)
- Equivalent Certificates: Educational certificates from boards other than State/Central Boards should be accompanied by Government of India notifications declaring their equivalence to Matriculation/10th class pass for Central Government service.
- Age Limit: 18 to 23 years as on August 1, 2025. (Born between 02/08/2002 and 01/08/2007).
- Age Relaxations: Age relaxations are applicable for various reserved categories (SC/ST, OBC, Ex-Servicemen, Riot Victims). See the detailed table in the 'Important Points to Note' section below.
- Ex-Servicemen Eligibility:
- Sepoy/Lance Naik or equivalent ranks in Army/Air Force/Navy are eligible.
- Higher ranks (Subedar, etc.) can also apply for lower posts if they meet eligibility and waive claims for higher rank posts.
- Must meet specific criteria for being considered an Ex-Serviceman as per government rules (detailed definition provided earlier in the post - see "Ex-Servicemen Eligibility" section).
- Age Relaxation for Ex-Servicemen: Allowed to deduct military service period from actual age, and the resultant age should not exceed the maximum age limit by more than 3 years.
- Medical Category for Ex-Servicemen: Should be 'A' (AYE) or 'SHAPE-1' at the time of discharge and possess the same medical standards as direct recruits.
- Character on Discharge for Ex-Servicemen: Exemplary/Very Good. Discharge certificate required at PET/PST, Documentation and Trade Test.
- Educational Qualification for Ex-Servicemen: Matriculation or equivalent or Army 1st Class Certificate or equivalent in Air Force/Navy.
- Other Eligibility for Ex-Servicemen: Other eligibility conditions are the same as for other candidates unless specifically relaxed.
- Disqualification (Marital Status):
- Bigamy is a disqualification. No person who has a spouse living can marry another person, and no person can marry someone who has a spouse living, unless such marriage is permitted under personal law AND the government grants an exemption.
Important Points to Note:
- Nationality: You must be a citizen of India.
- Gender: Both Male & Female candidates are eligible.
- Pension Benefits: You'll be covered under the National Pension System.
- 10% Female Preference: 10% of vacancies are preferably for female candidates. If not filled by females, these will be filled by male candidates.
- Domicile: There's a domicile restriction. You can only apply for vacancies in your home state and the corresponding Recruitment Sector as per the notification. You'll need to provide a valid Domicile Certificate.
- Serving CISF Personnel Wards: Wards of CISF personnel posted in a different state than their domicile can apply from their parent's posting location, but will be considered against vacancies in their actual domicile state.
- One Trade Only: Apply for only ONE trade. Multiple applications will lead to only the first one being considered.

- Serving Anywhere in India/Abroad: Selected candidates can be posted anywhere in India or abroad.
- Concession for Riot Victims' Dependents: Ex-servicemen and children/dependents of victims killed in the 1984 riots and the 2002 Gujarat communal riots may also apply. They need to produce a certificate from the District Collector/Magistrate.
- Age Relaxations (Beyond Upper Age Limit):
- SC/ST: Up to 5 years
- OBC: Up to 3 years
- Ex-Servicemen: 3 years after deduction of military service from actual age (up to closing date).
- Children/dependents of victims KILLED in 1984 riots or 2002 Gujarat riots:
- UR/EWS: Up to 5 years
- OBC: Up to 8 years
- SC/ST: Up to 10 years
- **Domicile State & District Caution:** Be very careful when providing your Domicile State and District in the online application. No changes will be allowed after submission. Any mismatch between what you enter online and your Domicile Certificate at documentation will lead to immediate cancellation.
- **Verify Data Carefully Before Submit:** Candidates should verify all the registered data(s) carefully. If any data is wrongly mentioned, use the "EDIT" button to correct it *before* submitting.

Caste Certificate Requirements (For Reserved Categories - SC/ST/OBC/EWS)

- It's issued by the appropriate/prescribed authority.

Be Prepared with Originals! You MUST bring all your original documents for verification at the PET/PST, Documentation & Trade Test stage. These include:

Rejection for Missing Documents: Failure to produce any required document will lead to immediate rejection of your candidature. No appeals will be entertained for document submission at a later date.
Selection Process – How Will You Be Selected?
The recruitment process involves several stages to ensure the selection of the most capable candidates. Note that the order of these stages can change at CISF's discretion.
- Height Bar Test (HBT) - Initial height check.
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET) - Qualifying Race:
- For Male Candidates: 1.6 Km race in 6 minutes 30 seconds
- For Female Candidates: 600 meters race in 4 minutes
Note: Ex-Servicemen are exempted from PET (race), but must appear for PST/Documentation/Trade Test for measurement of height, chest and weight only.
Qualifying Nature: PET is just qualifying. Failure leads to immediate elimination. No appeals in PET (race).
- Physical Standard Test (PST) - Measurement of Height, Chest, and Weight. See Physical Standards Section above.
Appeal for PST: Candidates disqualified in PST (height/chest) can appeal to the Appellate Authority on the same day through the Presiding Officer. The Appellate Authority's decision is final.
Elimination: Candidates not meeting physical standards are eliminated, except for weight-related issues which are addressed during DME.

Written Exam Details:
- The written exam will be bilingual (Hindi & English) and will be OMR Based or CBT mode.
- Qualifying Marks:
- UR, EWS & Ex-Servicemen: 35%
- SC/ST/OBC: 33%
- Meeting qualifying marks doesn't guarantee selection. Candidates for the next stage are called based on performance in the written exam and cut-off marks (Recruitment Sector/Trade/Category-wise), fixed after exam completion.
- The Written Examination will be 100 marks, 2 hours duration, with 100 objective type questions on:
- General Awareness/General Knowledge
- Knowledge of Elementary Mathematics
- Analytical Aptitude
- Ability to observe and distinguish patterns
- Basic knowledge of candidate in Hindi/English
- Questions are set bilingual in English/Hindi, and there is NO negative marking.
- If conducted in multiple shifts, scores will be normalized to determine merit and cut-off for DME/RME.
- Tentative Answer Keys will be on the CISF website after the exam. Candidates can submit online representations within the stipulated time for Rs. 100/- per question. Expert panel decision on answer keys is final.
- There's NO provision for re-evaluation/re-checking of scores.
- If the Written Exam is conducted as the 1st stage, then only shortlisted candidates based on written exam merit will be called for the 2nd stage (PET/PST/Documentation & Trade Test).
- Merit List Resolution (Tie-breaking): If multiple candidates score equal marks in the Written Exam, ties will be resolved as follows:
- Older in age gets preference.
- If tie persists, taller candidate gets preference.
- If tie remains, candidate with higher educational qualification gets preference.
- If tie is still unresolved, alphabetical order of names is used (name starting earlier in alphabet gets preference).
- Reserved Category Candidates on Own Merit: SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates selected on their own merit (without using relaxed standards) will be counted against unreserved vacancies as per their merit. Reserved vacancies will be filled separately from eligible SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates who are lower in merit but found suitable with relaxed standards.

- Application Fee: Rs. 100/- (Rupees one hundred only) for UR, OBC, and EWS category candidates.
- Fee Exemption: Female candidates, and candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Ex-Servicemen (ESM) categories are exempted from paying the application fee.

- **One-Time Registration:** If you are a new user, you'll need to complete One-Time Registration first. Click on the "New Registration" button and fill in the required basic, additional, and contact details, and declaration. You'll receive a Registration ID and Password on your registered Email and Mobile number. **Important: Name, Father's Name, Mother's Name, and Date of Birth must be exactly as in your Matriculation Certificate. Incorrect information can lead to cancellation.**
- Read the detailed notification carefully *after* registration.
- Ensure you meet *all* eligibility criteria *before* proceeding to application.
- **Login:** Login using your Registration ID and Password.
- Fill the online application form for "CONSTABLE/TRADESMAN-2024" with accurate information. No changes/corrections are allowed after final submission. You can 'SAVE & PREVIEW' before final submission, but use 'CLOSE' button if you want to edit the application further (data will not be saved if you use close).
- Upload scanned copies of:
- Photograph (JPEG, 20-50 KB, Dimension approx. 3.5cm (height) x 4.5cm (width)) - **Applications with blurred photos will be rejected.** **Ensure the photograph has the date of photo printed on it and is not more than 3 months old from the notification date.**

- Reservation/Relaxation Certificates: Candidates seeking reservation/relaxation benefits (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/ESM) must ensure they are entitled to them and possess original certificates in the prescribed format when document copies are requested.
- Document Verification is Provisional: Candidature is provisionally accepted, subject to document verification. If any claim in the application is unsubstantiated during document scrutiny, candidature will be cancelled.
- PWD Ineligibility: Persons with Disabilities (PWD) are **not eligible** to apply for this examination.

- Documents to Carry to Exam Centre: In addition to the Admit Card, you MUST carry:
- Four recent passport-size color photographs (with printed date, not older than 3 months from notification date).
- Original valid Photo ID proof (with printed date of birth): Aadhaar Card, Voter's ID, Driving License, PAN Card, Passport, etc.
- Additional original Date of Birth proof if your Photo ID doesn't have DOB (e.g., Matriculation Certificate, Birth Certificate).
- Printout of Online Application Form.
- Any other document mentioned in the Admit Card.
- Identity Card Verification: Produce the SAME Identity Card at all stages that you mentioned in the application.
- Biometric Data: Biometric data (LTI/RTI/Fingerprints) will be captured at PST/Documentation stage for identity verification in all subsequent stages.
- Stay Prepared for 2-3 Days: Come prepared for a 2-3 day stay at the recruitment center at your own expense, as recruitment stages may take multiple days. No TA/DA will be provided.
