1. Detailed Scheme of Studies (ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਦੀ ਯੋਜਨਾ)
The PSEB Class 9 curriculum for the 2026-27 session is designed to offer a holistic educational experience. According to the official document, each student must appear in a total of eight subjects. These are divided into core compulsory subjects and skill-based elective subjects.
ਮੁੱਖ ਨੁਕਤੇ: ਨਵੀਂ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਪ੍ਰੀਖਿਆ ਲਈ ਕੁੱਲ 650 ਅੰਕ ਨਿਰਧਾਰਿਤ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਹਰੇਕ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਨੂੰ ਗਰੁੱਪ-ਏ (Group-A) ਦੇ 6 ਲਾਜ਼ਮੀ ਵਿਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਸ ਹੋਣਾ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਹੈ। ਗਰੁੱਪ-ਬੀ (Group-B) ਵਿੱਚ ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਚੋਣਵਾਂ ਵਿਸ਼ਾ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ "ਸਵਾਗਤ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ" (Welcome Life) ਇੱਕ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀ ਅਧਾਰਿਤ ਵਿਸ਼ਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਕ INA ਰਾਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਜਾਣਗੇ।

3. NSQF Skill Subjects (ਵੋਕੇਸ਼ਨਲ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ)
Students can also opt for vocational trades under the National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF). Popular trades include Organized Retail, Automotive, Health Care, and Information Technology. These subjects generally have 40 marks for theory and 50 marks for practical skills.

5. PSEB Passing Criteria & Grading Rules
The Punjab Board follows a specific evaluation policy for the academic session 2026-27:
- Aggregrate Passing: Students must secure at least 33% marks in total to pass.
- Separate Passing: It is mandatory to obtain 33% marks separately in Theory, Practical, and Internal Assessment (INA).
- Compulsory Subjects: Passing in all 6 subjects of Group-A is a must for promotion to Class 10.
- Minimum Theory Requirement: At least 25% marks must be secured in the Written (Theory) Examination to be eligible for passing marks.
