ਮੰਗਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਚੇਤਾਵਨੀ : ਜਥੇਬੰਦੀ ਦੇ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਸੁਖਪਾਲਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ, ਜਗਵੀਰਨ ਕੌਰ, ਸੁਖਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਘੋਲੀਆ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਦੀ ਨਿਖੇਧੀ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਮੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਨੋਟਿਸ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਵਾਪਸ ਲਏ ਜਾਣ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਚੇਤਾਵਨੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜੇਕਰ ਨੋਟਿਸ ਵਾਪਸ ਨਾ ਲਏ ਗਏ ਤਾਂ ਸੂਬਾ ਪੱਧਰ 'ਤੇ ਤਿੱਖਾ ਸੰਘਰਸ਼ ਵਿੱਢਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
Teachers' Union to Gherao Moga DC Office Today Over Show-Cause Notices
MOGA: Tensions have escalated between the district administration and teachers' unions, with the Democratic Teachers Front (DTF) announcing a "gherao" (siege) of the Deputy Commissioner's office in Moga today at 3:00 PM.
The Trigger The protest is being held in response to show-cause notices issued to DTF State President Digvijay Pal Sharma and other teachers serving as Booth Level Officers (BLOs).
The controversy began recently during an election rehearsal for the Block Samiti and Zila Parishad elections in the Nihal Singh Wala block. BLOs at a local school staged a protest and raised slogans, alleging they were being forced to perform "double duty." Taking a serious view of the disruption, the Returning Officer (RO) wrote to the Moga Deputy Commissioner, leading to the issuance of the show-cause notices against the protesting teachers.
Union Leaders Speak Out Union District President Sukhpaljit Singh and District Secretary Jagveeran Kaur condemned the administration's move. They stated that the bureaucracy is harassing teachers without regard for the impact on the education of poor and needy students studying in government schools.
Demands and Warning Key union office bearers—including Senior Vice President Sukhwinder Singh Gholia, Vice President Swarn Das, Press Secretary Gurmeet Singh Bhotna, Finance Secretary Gursharan Singh, and Joint Secretary Amandeep Singh Madoke—have demanded the immediate withdrawal of the notices.
The union has issued a stern warning: if the notices are not withdrawn, they will launch a sharp, state-level struggle against the administration.
