The academic session for 2025-26 brings a structured scheme of studies for Class V students. Here's a breakdown of the curriculum, evaluation process, and key guidelines to help parents and students prepare effectively.
Curriculum Overview: Group A Subjects

Group B: Activity-Based Subject
- Health and Physical Education
This is an activity-based and practical subject. The examination and evaluation will be conducted at the school level, and the marks will not be reflected on the Detailed Marks Certificate (DMC) issued by the Board. Schools are responsible for maintaining the records of these marks.
Evaluation for Differently Abled Students
Examinations and evaluations for differently abled students will be conducted at the school level. The marks will be submitted to the Board by the respective schools, ensuring inclusivity in the assessment process.
Passing Criteria
To pass, students must meet the following requirements:
- Achieve at least 33% marks in the total (Theory + CCE) for each subject, which means a minimum of 33 out of 100 marks per subject.
- Secure at least 25% in the theory component of each subject (i.e., 20 out` out of 80 marks).
- The overall aggregate must be at least 33% across all subjects, meaning a minimum of 165 out of 500 marks (considering only Group A subjects).
Additional Guidelines
- School-Level Assessments: Subjects like Health and Physical Education, as well as evaluations for differently abled students, will be managed by schools. These records will be maintained internally and not reflected in the Board-issued DMC.
- Language Choices: Students must carefully select their first and second languages, ensuring they are different (e.g., if Punjabi is the first language, it cannot be the second).
- Board Reporting: For differently abled students, schools will submit the marks directly to the Board for official records.
This scheme ensures a balanced evaluation through a mix of theory, continuous assessment, and practical activities, supporting a holistic learning experience for Class V students in the 2025-26 academic session.
