ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਤੰਬਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਣਗੀਆਂ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪਰੀਸ਼ਦ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਚਾਇਤ ਚੋਣਾਂ
ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ, 5 ਅਗਸਤ 2024 ( ਜਾਬਸ ਆਫ ਟੁਡੇ) ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪਰੀਸ਼ਦ, ਪੰਚਾਇਤ ਸਮਿਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਗਰਾਮ ਪੰਚਾਇਤਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਸਤੰਬਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਣਗੀਆਂ। ਚੋਣਾਂ ਨਾ ਕਰਵਾਉਣ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਅਤੇ ਹਰਿਆਣਾ ਹਾਈਕੋਰਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਕ ਜਨਹਿਤ ਯਾਚਿਕਾ (PIL) ਦਾਇਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ। ਯਾਚਿਕਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਕਰਵਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ। ਜਿਸ ‘ਤੇ ਸੋਮਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਨਵਾਈ ਹੋਈ। ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਹਾਈਕੋਰਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਸਤੰਬਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਕਰਵਾ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਜਾਣਗੀਆਂ।
10 ਅਗਸਤ 2023 ਦੀ ਪੂਰਵ ਅਧਿਸੂਚਨਾ ਦੇ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ, ਪੰਚਾਇਤ ਸਮਿਤੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪਰੀਸ਼ਦ ਦੇ ਚੋਣਾਂ 25 ਨਵੰਬਰ 2023 ਤੱਕ ਅਤੇ ਗਰਾਮ ਪੰਚਾਇਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਚੋਣਾਂ 31 ਦਸੰਬਰ 2023 ਤੱਕ ਹੋਣੀਆਂ ਸਨ। ਯਾਚਿਕਾਕਾਰਤਾ ਰੂਲਦਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਕੋਰਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਕੀਲ ਦਿਨੇਸ਼ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਿਖਾ ਸਿੰਗਲਾ ਦੇ ਮਾਧਯਮ ਨਾਲ ਤਰਕ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਜਨਵਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਰਾਮ ਪੰਚਾਇਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੰਗ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਵੀ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਹਨ।
Punjab to Hold Local Body Elections in September
Punjab will hold elections for Zilla Parishad, Panchayat Samiti, and Gram Panchayats in September. This decision follows a public interest litigation (PIL) filed in the Haryana High Court, challenging the delay in conducting these elections. The petitioner demanded that the Punjab government conduct immediate elections. During the hearing on Monday, the Punjab government informed the High Court that elections will be held in September.
According to a previous notification dated August 10, 2023, elections for Panchayat Samitis and Zilla Parishads were scheduled until November 25, 2023, and for Gram Panchayats until December 31, 2023. The petitioner, Roorda Singh, argued through lawyers Dinesh Kumar and Shikha Singla that even after dissolving the Gram Panchayats in January, elections have not been conducted.
