ELIGIBILITY FOR UG / PG / DIPLOMA COURSES IN GNDU
- Bachelor of Arts (Journalism & Mass Communication): 10+2 in any stream with at least 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ST Students).
- Bachelor of Library and Information Science: Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) in aggregate or any other examination equivalent thereto.
- B.A Women Empowerment (Innovative course under UGC Scheme): 10+2 in any stream or equivalent examination with at least 40% marks in aggregate.
- Bachelor of Arts (Social Studies): Senior Secondary Certificate Part-II (12th Class) in any stream of Punjab School Education Board with at least 50% marks OR any other equivalent examination recognized by the University.
- Master of Arts (Journalism & Mass Communication): Graduation in any stream with 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ST Students).
- Master of Arts (Administration): Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University with 50% marks. OR (for Private Candidates) Graduate Police Officials with five years of service shall also be eligible.
- Diploma in Library Science: +2 examination with 40% marks in aggregate with English as one of the subjects or equivalent examination.
- PG Diploma in Counseling: Graduation (with psychology as one of the subject) with 50% marks in aggregate.

Faculty of Sciences
- Bachelor of Science (Food Science & Technology (BFST)(Hons.)): 10+2 (Science group) with 40% marks or any other examination equivalent thereto.
- Bachelor of Science (Home Science): 10+2 from P.S.E.B. or any other examination recognized by the University as equivalent thereto (with English as Compulsory Subject).
- B.Sc. (Fashion Designing): Senior Secondary Part-II (12 class) examination of P.S.F.B. with 45% marks in aggregate.
Master of Arts (Mathematics):
- B.A. B.Sc. with Honours in Mathematics/ Statistics/ Operational Research.
- B.A./ B.Sc. with 50% marks in aggregate and having Mathematics as one of the subjects in the qualifying examination.
