Punjab School Education Department asks district education officers to check disability certificates
The Directorate of School Education (Secondary), Punjab has issued a communication to all District Education Officers (DEOs) in the state, asking them to get the disability certificates of Divyang (differently-abled) employees and officers checked by four medical boards that have been constituted for the purpose.
The communication, which is in Hindi, states that the medical boards have been formed as per the directions of the Social Security and Women and Child Development Department of the Punjab government.
The DEOs have been asked to send a consolidated report of the medical examination/disability certificates of Divyang employees/officers to the Directorate in the prescribed format along with the supporting documents.
The communication also directs the DEOs to send the consolidated information of their subordinate offices/schools (in soft copy MS Excel with Raavi font) to the email address provided. It has been clarified that information received directly from schools will not be accepted and no column of the proforma should be left blank.
