Education Secretary exhorts school heads to play pivotal role in ensuring excellence in National achievement Survey

"The Punjab Education Department, which has bagged the top rank in the Performance Grading Index, released by the Union Government a couple of months ago, is all set to replicate its performance in the National achievement Survey slated to be held on November 12 this year. The school heads are to play a pivotal role in ensuring excellence in the ensuing National Achievement Survey." This was stated by the Education Secretary, Krishan Kumar, while interacting with the first batch comprising 126 school heads from different districts of Punjab, who have been attending the workshop, aimed at imparting Advanced Training regarding National Achievement Survey organised by the Education Department here at RICM today.
"The top rank among the states and union territories bagged by Punjab in the recently released Performance Grading Index could be attributed to the path breaking initiatives taken by the Punjab government for bringing in extension and augmentation of infrastructural as well as qualitative improvement in school education", said Krishan Kumar while lauding the concerted, consistent and dedicated efforts being put in by the school heads and teachers to translate the visionary initiatives in its true spirit at the ground zero level. Now, Punjab seems fully geared up to excel in the National Achievement Survey too.
The Education Department, with a view to giving concrete shape to its much cherished dream, has prepared a roadmap. The Learning Outcome based question banks, quizzes of different subjects have been prepared on the pattern of NAS question papers. Besides, questionnaires for the teachers and school heads have also been prepared. The Learning Material is being made available to the school heads, teachers and students both in physical and digital form. The teachers belonging to different subjects have been preparing students for NAS with the help of LED Projectors in their respective schools.
The Education Department has already imparted trainings to the DEOs/Dy.DEOs, District Parho Punjab Coordinators, Cluster Master Trainers(CMTs) Block Master Trainers(BMTs), Zila Sikhiya Sudhar Teams, District and Block Mentors of different subjects, school heads, subject teachers, private and govt. aided schools teachers to sensitise them about the NAS. The Advanced Training Sessions for the school heads have been designed to equip them with the latest know-how and innovative good practices for achieving excellence in the National Achievement Survey.
Assistant Director(Trainings) SCERT, Salinder Singh, State Resource Persons - Nirmal Kaur, Chander Shekhar, Jasvir Singh Sekhon, Dr. Harpal Singh, Sushil Bhardwaj, among others, gave valuable tips to the school heads regarding preparing students, teachers as well as themselves for the ensuing National achievement Survey. The Resource Persons answered the queries and cleared the doubts of the school heads.
