SAS NAGAR (MOHALI) – The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Punjab, has announced a prestigious training program in Finland for its educational staff for the 2025-26 academic year.

The initiative is set for the third batch of 72 participants, which includes Block Primary Education Officers (BPEOs), Center Head Teachers (CHTs), Head Teachers (HTs), and Primary/Elementary Teachers. The training will take place at the renowned University of Turku in Finland.

The selection process for this unique professional development opportunity is now officially underway. The program is structured in two parts: an initial one-week session in Punjab led by Finnish trainers, followed by an intensive two-week program in Finland.

Eligibility and Application Process

Candidates interested in the program must meet several preliminary screening conditions. To apply, candidates must use their E-Punjab ID on the training link available on the E-Punjab portal. The application window will be open from August 4, 2025, to August 10, 2025, until 5:00 PM.

The preliminary criteria for applicants are as follows:

  • Age Limit: As of June 30, 2025, the age for teachers should be 43 years or less. For HTs, CHTs, and BPEOs, the age limit is 48 years or less.
  • Passport Validity: Applicants must hold a valid Indian passport with an expiration date no earlier than March 2026.
  • Professional Record: The candidate must not have any pending charge sheets, inquiries, or criminal cases.
  • Recommendations: Applicants must provide 20 recommendations endorsing their work, including 10 from parents of current students and 10 from former students.

Selection Procedure

Following the application period, a verification process will be conducted by the relevant District Officer from August 11, 2025, to August 12, 2025. Candidates who successfully meet the initial requirements will be considered for the subsequent selection rounds.

The final selection will be based on a merit list. This list will be prepared by evaluating secondary criteria, which include the teacher's Annual Confidential Reports (ACRs), educational qualifications, experience, awards, contributions to quality education, and performance in an interview-cum-presentation.
